"Slavery", as in forced to work. Any state that has social benefits should make it illegal, or very expensive, to be unemployed.
If you are getting benefits from the state (and thus from the communal purse), you must also contribute to it.
Handicapped people too can package fiddly stuff or watch security cameras from a room at the back or something, no reason why any person should ever be unemployed unless they are a total vegetable.
If you cant find yourself a job, the government should find you one, and force you to work it on fear of jail time or huge fines (which you cant pay, and go to jail for debt to the government).

The rich do owe much to society. However I feel that they already give to society, without having to be taxed more than usual for it.
The only purpose of wealth is investment, and investment creates further wealth, not only for the investor, but for all other people involved with the project being boosted.
Further, rich people simply spend more, and every time you spend money you are taxed a bit. Rich people pay more tax because they buy more imported luxury goods, have more cars, more property, a plane or a boat even. These all are taxed to buy and maintain, so being rich is already taxing enough, without an additional "rich people tax" that only forces the wealth out of the country into some Switzerland bank, thus removing it from the local economy.

The rich get the least from the communal purse. They don't need economic aid, they don't need free healthcare, they don't need community college education, they don't need affordable housing projects, they don't need retirement funds.
Yet they give the most to the communal purse. They fund all of those public services and aids, that they don't need, their family doesn't need and probably their friends don't need nor use.
And you are asking them not only to give to these services they never use nor will ever use, not only are you asking them to give the most (which they already do), but you are asking them to give MORE, on top of the most, as a specific rich people only tax.
I think this is extortion by the state, asking for your money so it can create services that you will never see the benefit of. As a normal people it can make sense, as you may use these services, or your friends, or your children and relatives. As a rich person it makes no sense.
The rich aren't perfect, I am aware, and they pursue their own interests mostly, but their interests lie in the same bed with public interests. It is very hard to get rich while fucking everyone else along the way. While generating your wealth you are most likely also creating jobs, services, research and technology, housing and so on. You are most likely developing land and niches of the economy. You are most likely training people to become specialists in one or another field of work.
And I hate to bring up the "poor people logic" argument, but the rich do give more to charity, because when you are rich you feel a security for yourself, that you and yours are safe and you might as well throw money around. Even if we (wrongly) assume the rich are disgusting evil people, at least agree that they will spend money to buy some karma and feelgood points by giving to charity. This is an observable fact.

My view is that money is only one of many types of resources. Brain power is another. Oil and minerals are another kind of resource and so on.
You take away, exploit, the rich, since they have money, the same way you take away oil from an oil deposit.
You don't redistribute oil to the citizens.
It's only a coincidence that the resource you take from the rich is the same currency you use to pay the wages to people.

But you can confiscate each real estate property and bank accounts. And tax evasion can be fought by removing a lot's of privacy rights.
But in the end, high taxes, for rich and poor alike, are not desirable at all.
The whole point was that the intelligent have a quality, their brains, and they should be asked to put this brains at work.
And the rich have some other qualities: initiative, confidence, whatever give them the ability to make money. They must be asked to contribute for what they are good at: money.
It's only unfortunate that modern western society put a lot of value over money, and none in other human qualities, this make the rich to feel they are giving more than they are due, but it's not (my opinion).
If we look at the ancient Greeks or Romans, they also valued a lot military skills and prestige, but we only value money, and the rich justly feel bad when they have to contribute with their main resource, money, since this resource is perceived a lot more valuable than other kind of contribution, like the one offered by scientists or athletes.
