Classically trained actor here. The voice is an aesthetic quality, not especially different from how you look or how you move your body. It's certainly useful in getting someone's attention, but by itself it isn't enough to seal the deal.
That said, your voice is something that you can easily improve with training and discipline, the same way that you would work out. Vocal exercises and attention to breathing can lower your voice and unlock more resonators in the body, giving it that resonance that fills a room and gets people's attention. Working on it for half an hour every morning in conjunction with stretching and attention to posture will transform your voice in a matter of months, if you're putting the effort in. There's a wealth of resources on the internet. I recommend Edith Skinner's Speak With Distinction as a starting point.
