Sydney Morning Herald.
Its ok.
The only danger is forgetting to realise that the progressive media is cherry picking 100% of the time to contextualise towards their direction, all you have to do is accuse them of this and work backwards and you get a distilled version of news.
The truth isn't between two opposing sources. You may not get anywhere near the truth for everything but you don't need truth as much as you just want to find out there is no happening and how they are spinning it - fill in the gaps yourself like you would have to if your woman started talking.

PBS News Hour, honestly the best and most unbiased news outlet in the US, they are publically funded so they don't choose sides and completely free
Downside they are always like a day behind on reporting stuff since they always check the legitimacy of sources and to properly explain it to viewers.
>>70711634
well they name their sources, their authors; and I find few of their claims unsubstanciated.
they pick conservative targets to beat up, but name someone they fingered that was innocent
for that reason they arn't necessarily balanced, but I think that they are still credible

i like the big jew himself, google news.
if you find a story that strikes your interest it's pretty easy to click on sources and view it from however many viewpoints you like.
if you went there right now, it'd look like pure garbage, but that's mostly because of the election cycle(everyone thinks their feelings are facts, and people that write stories for the news are no different)
it actually gives you a pretty helpless feeling lately, this election cycle i tend to agree with /pol/ and you can see how every individual incident, especially with trump is twisted against him from both sides.
im guessing im a little bit older than pol because i've seen a few elections that i was old enough to watch carefully and i can tell you this is pretty different than your usual smear campaign, never before has the concept of protectionism been spun to look so bad, at least not in my lifetime.
Google news is still my favorite though because it gives you the tools to source check everything, it won't make you a happier person to see that the top picked version of the story extrapolated a 10 page essay about how the white patriarchy is "the very worst thing in the world" because donald trump said we should block wire transfers for people that aren't citizens nor people here on visa.
but that's not really google's fault, google as far as news goes only bumps what people click, aside from a few things.
my least favorite ways they've sold out are:
1.the picture they show next to the articles are almost never on the source you'll be directed to if you click on it
2. the "technology" page having been switched to stupid nigger shit like phones and facebook, if you actually want to read about developing technologies you need to go between science and health...infact 90% of the shit in the technology section either belongs in business or advertising.
>>70717483
2 cont.
it might seem totally ironic now but it was painfully obvious that apple had caused this, and probably paid directly for it before google had even entered the phone market.
the tech page should almost be like advertising but it should be actually mind blowing shit on the horizon, not mark "boy genius" cuckerberg's latest way of directing people towards what facebook thinks one should see.
(this was ALWAYS annoying because anyone old enough remembers that myspace was pretty much the same thing and probably even better before tom anderson sold it to fox, who raped it with loads of "features" which made the pages take years to load on that time's internet, not that it was even that slow people were well over 1mbps at that time.
3. it's clear that it started to suffer from the same problems as 4chan but only much earlier (maybe 2010ish) that it was painfully curated, most likely due to amateur SJW's getting legions of people to direct however they saw fit, causing shitty blog posts to receive MASSIVE bumps, then again maybe a part of me wants to believe google's old concepts are still alive somewhere in that corporate behemoth (probably not though)
>>70717483
>>70717774
TL;DR outside of an election cycle google news is fantastic in general, the default options aren't the best, but at least for now they make it especially easy to look past the opinionated writing and get some facts to form your own opinion.
if you're able to use the tools google gives you (and no i don't mean by logging in, i don't use any of that shit) you can avoid the pitfalls most outlets have of having someone else have already made the decision of how you should feel about something.
when in doubt, open the sources, go to the AP or some international version of a story and get the bullet points.
fuck the writers, fuck their feelings.
