Automation, shrinking businesses and/or major layoffs.

Why are they raising it to $15 dollars? What's their reasoning behind it?

they would just raise the cost of living so it all evens out and the dollar loses its value while the cost of gold goes up........theres a hint on that last part.
Honestly not that much. We already subsadize every american making minimum wage to the point that they practically get $15 in benifits. Might as well make walmart pay $15 so we stop socializing the cost to the tax payer

A shitload of contractors would become filthy rich charging 60/hr for menial labor

so raising the minimum wage is progressive?
Higher wages means less workers, more automation, and a greater focus on efficiency which eventually would mean cheaper products for consumers.
Mr. Goldstein might have to buy his 2nd private plane next month

probably more illegal immigrants. they work for below the minimum wage, so corporations would find new ways to utilize illegal labor.

As far as I can tell, their reasoning is gibsmedat. No other rational behind it since they clearly don't deserve it based on what they actually do.

There'd be less money in Panamanian bank accounts while hard working Americans would have more money.
Since /pol/ are just corporate shills, this would upset them tremendously.
>>70704756
everything would readjust and 15$ would be as worthless as 7$ or whatever the US minimum wage is.
Hell, let's make it $45 an hour
>you share a planet with retarded niggers

No, he doesn't know what he's talking about. It takes money, but also time to roll out full automation. Things break all the time. The more moving parts, the more prone to breaking it is. Impact stress and whatnot.

1. layoff of a portion of the workforce
2. slashing of hours for remaining workers
3. marking up product pricing
4. outsourcing to other countries.

Unemployment skyrockets.
