I use Tor daily for anonymity purposes. The major chunk of the Tor community is just a bunch of edgy kids looking for everything they saw in the awesome Youtube scary videos (*most* stuff you hear about Tor is bullshit).
Then there's the small chunk which is uncommon to find and they're pretty small communities, and some of them require an invitation by a member, and sometimes everyone else in this group has to agree for you to join. This chunk, unlike the other one, has intelligent and interesting conversations and really nice people.

Pretty much by talking in chats. There's a few chats in Tor which are pretty crowded most of the time.
