2. Find a way to get patronage of a few establishment figureheads
3. Get seats
4. Forge an alliance with a few smaller political factions and make them depend on your votes
5. Use them to create dissent in the bigger factions
6. Create a crisis that would expose the impotence of the current system
7. Present a solution and enforce it
8. Vote yourself into power, while everyone else is in disarray
9. Abolish all other parties

Autocracy is what augustus and for a while what Julius Caesar did.
Basically one person or party rules, succession is done through meritocracy as far as the party or head of state can find someone who has more merit to replace them. Or in the case of Rome they might directly compete in order to prove worthiness.
Autocracy is far more efficient and effective when compared to democracy and the like, the only downside is that people are likely to rebel since they can blame all of their problems on a single individual or group.
As opposed to democracy which the only real positive trait is resistance to rebellion.
Basically autocracy is akin to the private sector (the state belonging to a private person or group) and democracy is more akin to the public sectors. (The state belonging to the inefficient populist will of the people)
Autocracy has universally been rather positive. Compare traditional monarchy which has a comparable or better track record than democracy and is considered a cousin to pure autocracy.
