I don't have a problem with the holocaust, but I also don't have a problem with what we did to the Indians. The only group that could possibly be seen as doing something morally wrong is the Russians and the Chinks since they were killing their own people. If you're killing an outgroup though then what's the big deal? These people are your enemies.

This whole moral framework that exists in the west is fucking insane and very few people seem to mention it. How can people not realize that it's completely fucking crazy to be upset about killing your enemies? The Japs don't cry about Nanking because they were killing Chinks. They have no reason to care about it, and yet western whites cry whenever we hurt our enemies. It's absurd.

The book takes place in San Fran and Colorado

If you read this book, do not expect a dripping fantasy gushing over the nazis, they're mentioned in passing.

This however is a beautiful book, which gave me a profound respect for craftsmen of all trades.
