Because they're successful and intelligent.
>>
Because they aren't and you're making things up.

Why am I drawn to so many threads made by New Zealanders?
>>
Because they are intelligent people and realize that the most successful countries are christian. If they do it right, unlike africans.

>1900 = less than 1% of all Koreans were Christian
>1950 = less than 8% of Koreans were Christian
>in 1995 less than 20% of South Korea was Christian
>In 2010 30% of South Korea was Christian
>It is estimated that right now 33% of South Korea is Christian

Starting in the 1950s, Syngman Rhee and others worked to further divide and weaken the Buddhist Sangha in the country. Rhee campaigned in 1954 against the so-called "Japanized Buddhists". Western education and scholarship, and the empowerment of women and the poor, caused divisions among Koreans. Specifically, a deep rift opened between married priests and celibate monks, a carryover from Japanese Buddhism's influence during the occupation period, though there had been calls for an end to celibacy from some Korean monks before Japan's annexation of the Korean peninsula. The differences were so great that fistfights over the control of temples became frequent. Monks, mostly belonging to the celibate Jogye order, threatened to kill themselves. Many of them were against the married clergy. As the Buddhist riots continued, the influence of Buddhism lessened. Buddhism continued to lose followers to Christian missionaries, who were able to capitalize on these weaknesses.

TL;DR stupid Koreans got tricked by sneaky Christians and their Jewy ways. All the smart Koreans are Atheist and despise Abrahamic religions. The Christian Koreans are super devout because they're dumb as bricks.

In the 1980s, President Chun Doo-hwan, a Methodist, adopted anti-Buddhist policies and attempted to restrict Buddhist activities.[16] During his administration, many historic temples were converted into tourist resorts, which deprived temples of their autonomy, as these "national parks" were government-run.[16] Consequently, Buddhists, especially the Jogye Order, were highly critical of these measures. From 27 to 31 October 1980, during the Kyeongsin Persecution, the government raided major Buddhist temples throughout the country, including the headquarters at Seoul's Jogyesa, under the guise of anti-government investigations and an attempt to "purify" Buddhism.[16][19] 55 monks were arrested and many others were interrogated and tortured, including the abbot of Naksansa, who died from the abuses.[19] None of the investigated monks were ever charged, although many were sent to reeducation camps. Throughout the 1980s, the Buddhist community was kept under strict surveillance of government agents and many were prosecuted under false charges of supporting Communists or conspiracy.[16]

Stupid gooks could have been liberated from western influence by their imperial Japanese overlords, but anti-buddhist meant anti-Japanese, so they blindly suck Almost-Swiss-Looking Baby Jesus's cock to this day.

Real Korean here. The reason there are so many Christians here is that Korea was pretty much the only real 'Confucian' country left in the world after the manchurian hordes cucked Ming China while the Japanese with their Shinto were never really that interested in it.

One big problem with the Confusian 'religion' is that it doesn't say anything specific concerning the afterlife. There's ancestor worship but we never learn what actually happened tk the ancestors when they die. There's no Confucian equivalent of heaven, nirvana or islamic paradise. So this leaves a gaping hole in every follower of Confucius concerning the fear of death and what happens after it. The point of religion is to make people less afraid of death and Confucianism fails epically at that. This is why Koreans ate that Jeebus shit up like it was freshly harvested rice the moment it got introduced in the mid 19th Century, because it offered a solution to the nagging fear of death and eternal silence.

Also Koreans suffered a lot in the age of imperialism, Japanese occupation and the Korean war. When peasants suffer they pray for some supernatural figure to come and save them, but Confucianism has no savior figure or a Rapture-like event in its tenets that assure people in terrible suffering that its all okay and its all part of god's plan to save them. So again Christianity offered a solution in a situation where there was no alternative.

tldr: Koreans had never seen an organized fairytale-like religion with omnipotent protectors, saviors and miracles and other feel-good bullshit before, and Christianity fit right into the empty feeling in their souls.

they are
I've been to korea a couple of times and the churches per km2 seems to be extremely high.
Most of the people workin in a church just do it for the money though. They don't give a shit about christian aspects. The people going to those churches though are crazy christians.
I was in a "modern" church were they played drums and shit and the priest literally said "Sadly we are not born American but Korean is not so bad either!"

The missionaries did a thorough job in Korea.

Where I live all the old churches are being converted to condos OR being taken over by Korean Congregations.

They are really hardcore into Christianisty. It seems to work for them too. They are generally good hardworking, family oriented people.

(I still don't support mass immigration, but they are generally upstanding citizens)

If an average white american christian were to go to a korean church and see how batshit devout everyone is, they'd become atheist.
