This is a man who uses a phrase like "let's see if sand can glow" when discussing war, what it entails, and what needs to be done when war occurs.
While I agree with WHAT he was arguing for, I don't like the humor, I don't like the snide smirk that he said it with, and I don't like the snide smirk that he put on every time someone mentioned it. No, sir. That is not something to SMILE about. While it is nothing short of treasonous to not do everything in your power to win a war as quickly as possible, it is also treasonous to "want" that war, to act like it is a good thing, celebratory even. A president should absolutely be willing to lie, cheat, and murder before letting his country fall into war.

What he was arguing is that, should we find ourselves in a war, it is the obligation of the president of the united states and the administration of the army to do whatever it takes to end the war as quickly as possible, with as few casualties on our side as possible. You'd think such a thing wouldn't even be up for fucking debate....then Nam and Iraq happened and we killed quite a few of our troops who didn't have to die! All because someone in the brass was getting bad PR. Bush's debacle with the bombed Mosque in Iraq comes to mind. He ordered a "cease fire" (that is, he ordered our troops to cease firing at the people who were shooting at them) because of the media fallout that was coming out of this little Mosque getting shelled.
This is why you have to try to stop the fucking war first. Once you enter war, the only fucking thing to do is kill, burn, and destroy. Doing anything else is betraying your soldiers.
