A couple of ground rules :
- only death row and life sentence inmates are considered
- they need to go through physical evaluation so you don't get losers getting embarrassingly pummeled on live tv which is a downer
- they need to sign up for it voluntarily with signed documents and so on
- winners do not get their sentences reduced but get better cells and access to better training equipment, a death row inmate might have his sentence reduced to life
- failure to comply to fight rules has a penality of solitary imprisonment and a ban from further fights
- the money generated from the broadcast is used to better life conditions in the prisons and generate jobs related to the broadcast/organization of the matches
I don't see why this shouldn't work. These inmates are doing fuck all in prison and slowly going insane knowing they will be either killed by the state or left to rot behind bars until they're dead.
This way they could at least provide some entertainment and generate money to better the conditions for themselves and other inmates.
