Why doesn't people like Capitalism and market economy? It's like people don't want opportunities.
>>
Most people do want capitalism, just not the autistic wannabe socialist edge lords you find on /pol/

People love markets.

People hate capitalism.

There IS a difference.
>>
It requires effort from the individual to achieve something in life.
>>
>>70545184
Modern capitalism = large companies and super wealthy people trying to extract as much money as they can from the poor with complete disregard on how it will affect the economy. They have destroyed the middle

Free markets = industriousness and innovation, trying to provide new and useful products to consumers and actually creating wealth.

These people, and I can GUARANTEE you this, have never read about the basics of economics, read a book about economics, read a history book, or and are poorly educated. Otherwise, those who have a basic understanding yet still endorse socialism/capitalism tend to think in the short term or have poor understanding of the relationship between government regulation and the free market. Or they have moral constraints saying "Oh Joe Shmoe without a job needs a social safety net because it is our responsibility as a society to take care of him", etc.

Work is almost obsolete. Thousands of people are basically 0 contributors economically through no fault of their own but simply the advancement of technology and globalism.

Might be the funniest thing I've heard this week. Nobody in America is going to be a millionaire tomorrow but there is far more opportunity in regards to purchasing decisions, available jobs, moving, housing, most things. Obviously there are government barriers that restrict opportunity so varying degrees, but we should be working to get rid of those.

A lot of people would literally rather be very lazy, so long as they get enough to get by, rather than work hard and get a lot more.

If all Americans were offered a "living wage" of $30,000 per year for doing nothing, the entire Democratic party would literally stop working the next day. That would be plenty, to their thinking, and it wouldn't be worth putting in any work to make more.

What most people don't really consider when they see these charts is two things.

1. Even the poorest Americans are within the top 3% of the worlds richest people. The most bumfuck poverty street rat is going to have housing, food, a TV, gaming consoles, fridges, clothing, computer, car, etc. Things are really not as terrible as they seem.

2. Even if we were to force redistribution of wealth, we would experience less business creation/innovation, brain drains where the rich leave the country, and more funding in the government treasury which will just lead to a further bloated state that throws money towards welfare and needless wars.

Defenitely, beautiful place, very diverse geography. You'll find deserts in the east, forests and swamps in the center, beaches and large urban cities to the west. Lots of mountains and open land. For all the bad policies we have, there are some decent ones to. We have open carry laws and are pretty lax with firearm standards, pot is legal, plenty of businesses to shop in due to fairly low regulations, and other things. Come on down Eurobro.

>Why doesn't people like Capitalism and market economy? It's like people don't want opportunities.
Because people tell them that everything is fiscal policy; capitalism and a market economy. While ignoring monetary policy.

The problems with our current system isn't a fiscal policy it's monetary.

If you only talk about capitalism and a market economy you don't really understand what you are talking about or what really matters.

Mostly overblown.

Lets say McDonalds runs away, there'd be small-businesses popping up left and right to fill the vacuum and it'd be better for the job market and wealth distribution since all the money isn't going to a single mega-corp.

Or don't get a meme degree and get something that you are either smart to enough to make work in the market so you aren't starving or get a degree the market needs and find a comfortable job that falls into your lap. Sure it's rough but I don't understand why the government has to hold anyones hand, get over it. As far as immigration is concerned all free market conservatives in my camp except the most ardent conservatives are concerned about this as well, we should be prioritizing immigration reform absolutely. I'm voting Trump for a reason.

its sort of like when you get so comfortable in a situation that you then are able to rationalize doing something so stupid although you never plan on doing it

No you're completely wrong, wealth being redistributed to the ownership class (who contribute to society) from the shrinking middle class. Middle class workers, scientist, engineers, etc. are the ones who are actually doing the creation and innovation you speak of.

>>
>>70549678
But there are two concerns there. The first being that I would say it wouldn't just be McDonalds, it would be several business owners affected by a blanketed rise in say income tax or estate tax on the rich, so they leave to a country that supports them like China in droves. We are talking multiple companies here. If American companies are already getting their dick sucked in third world countries for cheap labor and lax standards, who to say they wouldn't move there entirely in droves after said tax went into effect.

My other concern is that although small businesses could fill these needs, it would be nowhere near instant. The market would collapse months before these people scrambled to buy store outlets, amass the capital and supplies needed to actually open the store, and start addressing market concerns. It would be very messy.

I should reiterate this is just capital flight, the other points I brought up are very valid concerns as well.

What the fuck are you talking about?
You can literally at any moment at any day buy any stock that's available to trade

You mean a block order?
A block order consists of a specified volume and price for at least three consecutive hours within the same day
And it's only used when it's an insane amount that can take a large percentage of a company like 20 or 30% and it's incredibly rare to happen at all
>>
>>70550226
>Middle class workers, scientist, engineers, etc. are the ones who are actually doing the creation and innovation you speak of.

Alright sure, but this doesn't dismiss my previous point. Where is the outlet for this physical/intellectual innovation and work? Should all these budding intellectuals and intelligent engineers start businesses of their own? Or should we maintain the businesses that we have by not driving away what I would assume you would like to call the bourgeoisie, providing a medium for the workers to continue to work and scientists to have funding and workforce deadlines to do what they do best.

So saying I'm completely wrong is entirely subjective, this system has historically been the most efficient. I think something we can both agree on is resisting cronyism, things like corporate subsidies and welfare, which is an antithesis to the free market.

You also mentioned immigration, and there are many facets to that issue which can be fixed. Tarriffs, lowering corporate taxes/regulation, pushing policies creating a larger workforce, etc.

Capitalism? We don't have pure capitalism any more.

Capitalism requires the incompetent companies to go bankrupt. Now we have too-big-to-fail. That's not capitalism.

Why do we have so many regulations now??? Because it becomes unaffordable for start-ups to compete with too-big-to-fail giants.

We don't even have free markets anymore. Giant banks have been caught manipulating almost every market.

lel sick memes famalam, not sure if you're screwing with me or trying to propose serious arguments. If it's the latter then no matter what your feelings are on the matter my "playstation and mcburger" are luxury. Not every American is going to be driving around limousines and eating $100 lobster, the fact that I can make free purchasing decisions and can afford most foods and means of entertainment I would say is just fine. This isn't the 1800's anymore, we're not all struggling to buy fur coats and iron rakes so we can prepare for the harvest.

Portraying the providers as Jews doesn't really make an important point. Jew or not they are creating opportunities for employment and providing goods/services to the country and market interests. We don't need the providers per se but like I said, this isn't the 1800's anymore, I don't particularly feel like mining iron or copper or what have you to create a playstation and killing cows outside my house to make a delicious Mcburger, I'll buy them for cheap instead.

This is not true, this picture makes socialism looks like a GOOD thing.

Socialism is like being a 35 years old guy that lives with your parent and dont have a job.
You get stuff like house, food, and etc... from them, this is good right? They are taking care of you right?
Here is the bad point you will need to abide by what they think its right, sometimes they will tell you to do some bullshit course X or Y because it will be better for (in their opinion) or do/ not do some bullshit Z or W because its good for you (on their opinion), and you can't do nothing about it because you have 35 years, and never had have a job in your life and need to get out of this situation.
In the end all this puts you in a vicious circle that makes harder to you get out of this situation.
If you are a kid, this situation (dont have job and must do what your father do, need your father to takes care of you) is ok (well its needed) since mentally formed, socially formed.... yet, but not when you have 35 years or whateaver

I like moderate capitalism, I don't see the need to go to autistic lengths to diminish the states role in the economy.
Companies and people can be trusted with only one thing - following their own interests. Those interests will not always be the best thing for everibody in the long term.
It's why the state should regulate the market and steer it when necessary.

You have to be pretty detached from reality to think that either absolute control from the state or absolute absence of the state has any chance to yield good long term results.
