It would have been in the 19th century. It would have been an excellent way.

We live in a world where countries are run by people who see nations as an anachronism. The old feudal mindset still exists among the powerful, where they owe more allegiance to each other than to their subjects.
>>

It depends what you need to achieve.

Democracy can also be good, but not if you need to effect a rapid transformation, while still keeping society together and not tumbling into anarchy. For that, democracy is very slow and in democracies people rarely take the difficult decisions at the right time, politicians preffer to put them off for as long as possible even if this causes more hard overall in the long term. This is because Democracy rewards politicians for taking a short-term minimum-political-risk position, even if this is harmful to the fundamentals of the society.

You can see this in the UK if you write down a list of stuff that has been bubbling under for the last 30-50 years:

Power generation (nuclear plants too late after being put-off umpteen times).
Immigration/integration problems (government avoided talking about it until the problem became acute, then it attempted to cover it up, then it attempted to shut-down discussion using hate speech laws).

The list goes on and on.

Fascism has no problem tackling these big issues head-on, even if it means difficulty in the short term, longer term the country is better off.

Human beings thrive under controlled pressure. Fascism as a political ideology has many problems, but as a phenomenon most people are intimately familiar with it - we experience it as children, employees, etc. It should be implemented in order to ensure and shape responsible citizens who transcend the basic limitations of their society and flourish as more developed persons.

Just ask yourself, as soldiers better as the result of a strict training regimen and clear authority, or are they better as a ragtag group of individuals simply occupying the same general area?

Technically speaking, most human societies in history have been ruled by some form on one party system, be it a warlord, dictator or monarch, monarchies being the most stable. A benevolent dictatorship is the most stable and consistent form of government as the people in power stay the same and treat running a nation as the head of a family business does his company. In western democracies we keep getting a new government hand over and get our laws rewrote, removed and revised constantly whereas countries with leaders in power for multiple decades tend to reform and improve laws more carefully. Ultimately it's tradeoff between having a consistent, stable government and having one you can change and remove at will (every four years).

This.

To this day, all the old men who lived during the fascist era still say everything was better back then.

Our leftist SJW teachers always told us, from the first day we ever heard about fascism, that that was because they were "indoctrinated" to believe that.

I accepted that explanation as a child, but now I realize it makes no fucking sense.

You can have the greatest propaganda machine IN THE WORLD (and Mussolini quite possibly had it), but if the people are starving they're starving.

There are a few simple parameters that we can use to decide whether fascism was good for italy or not.

>Under Mussolini
>A7 Genova-Serravalle Scrivia, 50km of motorway built on grueling mountainous terrain, with massive drops, many bridges, the road had to literally be carved into the mountain.
>over 12000 people at work on it
>got built in 2 years

Under our current governments:

>A4 Mestre variant
>50km of motorway built in basically the flattest region of Italy
>project was ready in 1990
>took almost 15 years to get approval
>5 years to build
>opened in 2009

What the fuck are we talking about here?

Mussolini built 90% of Italy's railways.
They built a 15km long tunnel (Grande Galleria dell'Appennino), WITH A FUCKING TRAIN STATION IN THE MIDDLE OF IT.
In the 1920s.

Imagine what we could achieve with today's technology if we had that sort of resolution.

I get that fascism is supposedly directed towards the benefit of the nation, but how can anyone think that giving ultimate power to the state is a good idea? I see some people equate fascism with the will of a nation, but when you give absolute power to a select group of people then it seems quite obvious that it will be corrupted. That's not to say that democracy as it stands is a good system, but fuck at least in principle the people have some amount of control over their state. Fascism is fundamentally in opposition to American principles of liberty and self determination. Personally I think that democracy is the only answer and that for it to work one needs a strong vigilant society. To use state hegemony of force and influence, however, is simply absurd and quite a slippery slope towards a state which is self serving and wholly detached from the will of the people.
>>
>>70547571
This actually happens regardless.

Even systems that start out idealistic.

Communism started out like that, then Stalin and other dictators like Mao and Kimmy came in. And ofc Pol Pot.

Democracy especially, the most idealistic of the lot is rife with corruption. Pretty much everyone and their mum at this point knows that our democracy is a sham and that true power is in the hands of the elites.

Might makes right.

Those who can take what they want, will.

Those who are too weak to stop them will be exploited.

This is how it has been under every single form of government since antiquity.

>>70547860
No doubt every system has its flaws and as I say democracy as it stands is not perfect. Despite this democracy at least has the potential to change the power structure without revolution, whereas a facistic rule does not. The problem with democracy is a weak willed placated populous, but to try to solve this problem with state use of force is a backwards top down approach which necessarily will impose the will of those in control onto the people. Unless by chance you can find the one ruler whose sole concern is the will of the people this is in contrast to ideals of a States obligation to the concerns of its people.

How are the Gypsies, Romanians, and Moroccans treating you, Giovannino?
>>implying
I'm not implying. I'm suggesting that you do something. You, the people, have the power here, friendo.
>>
>>70549576
Do you even know what you're on about?

Why do you think there were so many foreigners in the Roman army? Because Romans had stopped joining.

They didn't need to work,

They had foreign slave labour.

So they treated foreigners like shit whilst the foreigners did all the work and increasingly kept them safe.

The one thing we can learn from history is that people never fucking learn from history.

Sure a family will care for its own, but unless everyone in a society views everyone else in that society as being equally included in their family then there naturally may be favoritism. You are in power and your cousin is applying for a job, you have a choice between your fellow countrymen and your cousin who is equally of your country. Your loyalties are to both but more so to your cousin. He is then appointed to a position where he is equally likely to do the same. Ultimately any society will develop elites in my opinion and the more power a state has the more power these elites will have. That's just an opinion though.
>>
>>70550189
Hey it wasn't my analogy. I'm just trying to make the point that when one has complete control their obligations are not necessarily to the people. It then, plausibly, could become a matter of placation and self service. Again I should say that democracy as it stands is not perfect either.
>>
>>70550667
the problem was the slave labor in the first place not that they didnt give their slaves even more power over them. this egalitarian mindset is exactly why britian is irrelevant today, you can see your colonies with your own blood have stayed relatively loyal while your foreign slaves have all gone separate ways, you and france have started importing niggers by the boatload and giving them all special rights and all it gets you is bombed. no amount of being nice is going to change the fundamental differences between different nations
>>70550704
yeah that makes sense but as you said its unavoidable to some degree

>How are the Gypsies, Romanians, and Moroccans treating you, Giovannino?

Romanians are somewhat alright.
Gypsies are the scum of the earth as usual.
I don't see too many moroccans as I don't live in any of the shitty neighbourhoods they inhabit.

There are a couple black pushers around the block but they never give any trouble to anyone. They're just here to do their business and they're surprisingly quiet and discreet for being blacks.

>I'm not implying. I'm suggesting that you do something. You, the people, have the power here, friendo.

Actually, you're implying many things.

You're implying I have anywhere near the charisma required to lead a movement of such proportion.
You're implying that te average italian cares enough to march on Rome.
You're implying that if we do we won't just get arrested.

No, fascism is a good way to implement a good way to run a nation.

No better, cleaner way to install national socialism or monarchy than fascism.

Wow. You should definitely do something about your immigration.
By the way, what ever happened to that Senegalese who killed the American?
>You're implying I have anywhere near the charisma required to lead a movement of such proportion.
Never said lead. Simply take part in, help create. The strongest will rise to the occasion and be the leader. Just get you and your friends together.
>You're implying that te average italian cares enough to march on Rome.
I was being a bit poetic. Pretty much stand in front of Chamber of Deputies yelling "vergogna"! Which is what you Italians are good at. Protest is all I'm asking for. Not a real march on Rome with Graziani and Balbo.
>You're implying that if we do we won't just get arrested.
Arrested for what?

Unavoidable sure, but with a vigilant populous it could perhaps be kept in check. That of course requires this voting population to be well informed and be driven towards the good of the nation and not just their own individual wants. It's just my opinion that the people of a nation should decide what is for the best and not the state, but again that is an ideal. National unity should come from the ground up such that it is a reflection of the people's desire to succeed not from the top down as a means of control.

You haven't even read the actual Novel, "Starship Troopers" by Robert Heinlein, Have you?

NATIONalism? Sorta.
I'm not really into believing one western country is better than an other. I'm more into the idea that the west as a whole is better than everyone else.
>>
It isnt.

You need 2 generations of instilling traditional values and rooting out degeneracy.

Afterwards fascism is replaced, peacefully as it is no longer needed.

Yes, 2 generations is a lot of scenic helicopter rides, but the result is worth it.

Only if it's a minecraft related business. But in all seriousness I see your point that's why I keep saying a vigilant well informed populous and call that an ideal. The sad truth is that even though these are the ideal the reality is that most people, at least here in the home of the good burger, are loyal to the interests of the party they align themselves with and therefore to the elites that have embedded themselves here. So in short I think that national unity is a prerequisite for democracy, but to seek this from those capable of exerting coercive force and propaganda is an ill advised approach that would only further allow corruption. A society must choose to stand on its own two feet for the good of its people not be propped up by an authoritarian figure, but again I'll admit that this is an idealistic notion. An authoritarian regime that works for the will of its people is too however.

Stop using the leftist definitions, if you believe that nations exist, that they have the right to decide how they want to be governed, and if you care about your own nation, you are a nationalist.

It's time to stop accepting the propagandist idea that nationalism = bad patriotism.

>, if you believe that nations exist, that they have the right to decide how they want to be governed, and if you care about your own nation, you are a nationalist.
You misunderstand. I'm saying that you should care about your own nation and be nationalistic. So long as this nationalism doesn't impact your brother nations. The west should work together in the field of science but other than that each nation should be nationalistic for themselves. Basically, I don't want to see wars between Europeans. Fuck everyone else though.
