These people are so, so ignorant. Deforestation was an issue that no-one gave a shit about in the 1850's. After the industrial revolution, higher standards of house insulation and the introduction of coal, trees in western countries have rebounded immensely.
Look at a picture of any western country a hundred years ago and I guarantee you that you will see very few trees, and then look up the same area today and it'll have lots of them, provided it's not farmland of course.
On that note, farmland is exactly why the OP image is bullshit. Deforestation of the US would only lead to more farmland which would be green, and on top of that population density is too low to justify the image.
