The first party in the polls is Fuerza Popular, led by Keiko Fujimory, the daughter of Alberto Fujimori, president of Peru from the year 1990 to the year 2000. He modified laws to allow him to stay in power for five more years (1995-2000) (Reelection, here in Peru only congress people can be reelected, not presidents, but he changed the constitution).
People loved him because they thought he finished Terrorism, the one that Sendero Luminoso brought since the 80s, but what a lot of people ignore is that with him in power 600 million dollars of this countrys money disappeared, six of his relatives disappeared with the money and are protected by japanese law and also, he bought the media and papers.
2nd is PPK, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, sadly i have not read too much on him, but people claim that he is a lobbyst, gave contracts to his friends or something like that, please another peruvian anon explain this.
3rd is Veronika Mendoza, this person is from the left wing party called Frente Amplio, she's a candidate that wants to reform plenty of things.
Wants to regulate mining, not informal, formal mining which is a scary thought since peru is a mining country and also a lot of people previously involved with Sendero Luminoso is in her team.
She wants to "democratize" the media, which is exactly the same word Chávez used back in the day, it's really fucked up.
Those three are really the only one that will advance to the next step actually, there's a tie between PPK and Veronika Mendoza on the polls.
