I went to catholic church today. We heard the reading of scripture, the priest talking about Jesus, praying for those in need, asking Jesus to remain in us, received communion in memory of Christ, as He commanded, prayed for the Church, etc. Mary was not even mentioned today.

And for the motives. It's documented why Luthers reforms became popular with the rich. Obviously for the working class I understand why, not owing the church work and your time.
