youre right that we should have fiat currency, but your argument that there isnt enough gold is stupid. if we can tie a dollar to no goods, we can certainly tie it to .000001g worth of gold. you should instead make the argument that to have a gold-based currency, you need to dig gold up from the ground in order to put it in a vault in a hole in the ground. it's wasteful by definition to have gold-based currency
