You forget that a lot of the policies right wing-conservative parties of europe are similar to Democratic Party in USA.

Democrats would be centrist-to conservative in europe. So even if the entire map is painted blue you would consider it to be leftist.

That used to be the case and kinda still is. But not with FN (France), Law and Justice (Poland), or AfD (Germany). They're all pretty fuckin right wing.

Also you're assuming I know nothing of European politics whatsoever.

Yeah, sorry about that. As I said "some" european political parties are not like that. But still even those far right parties you mention have some (if not many) socialistic policies.

With the recognition by regional political forces that their future lies with rightist political allies. The union of those forces will help spread rightist political ideals and tip the balance of power away from leftists.

Goddammit, how's Idaho?
>>
>>70490632
Not easily, even subtracting Portland would leave the coastal counties, which are much more populous than the interior.

Idaho is much better either way, even if you like Oceans it's only 4-8 hours away depending on where in Idaho you are

>>70489714
>But still even those far right parties you mention have some (if not many) socialistic policies.

Which does not make them in any way related to the Democrat Party in the US.

Both Republicans and Democrats essentially argue for crony capitalism. The only difference is that one gives mouth to right wing social forces and the other gives mouth to left wing social forces. Democrat "socialism" has never amounted to do more than throwing token money at certain sacred cows.

The European right wing tends to be fascist. And not in the "ew you crazy Nazi's" way, but in the way that combines right wing social policy with nationalism and certain socialist elements.

>The people for the refugees are the people who don't have to deal with them on a regular basis.
I saw this pattern a lot in French elections.
The ones who love importing foreigners are the ones to whom these foreigners are just some nice, far-off idea, as opposed to a daily reality.
>>
>>70487334

In the long run the yellow will inevitably become independent. In the past central governments asserted authority over separatist regions with superior force. In the 21st century its much harder for states to enforce unconsented authority. If somewhere like Catalonia or Northern Ireland gets independence it would make it much harder for central governments to deny independence possibly creating a domino effect of separatist movements. This creates an environment of decentralization and questioning of establishment authority. Decentralization of course weakens the broken and declining EU. The EU is basically a leftist wet dream so Im inclined to say that the right wins in the foreseeable long run

No, they wont be independent and they would never survive. Literally every map paint thread or anything even marginally related to those regions, you guys want to make microcountries out of it.

Are you kidding me? Even the AfD and NPD are center at best, simply because our 'center' party the CDU has slipped so far left.
I also love the fact that they want to ban the NPD for being unconstitutional, yet the communist parties remain, and the NPD is full of government plants, like 70%.

>>70494084

My theory is that complex economies makes people think that the state has to control everything. In rural areas theres usually one or two major industries at play. People realize how the state fucks with them and changes the rules to favor a couple firms so they are more anti-government and right wing. The urban folks notice the overwhelming complexity of economic systems and can't fathom how unfamiliar industries organize themselves so they become nanny state control freak leftists
>>
>>70487334
>>70487902

big citites seem to cause leftism, probably because if you live in a city you dont give a shit or literally dont know how the economy actually works
>>
>>70493840

Why shouldn't be be granted self government? The concept of consent of the governed is the foundation of Western Liberal Democracies. Now that humanity has advanced to a point that its no long acceptable to march an army into a region and take control. Places with independence movements can exploit this and eventually gain independence. IMO its rational to imagine the long term political landscape in Europe as a fragmented one
>>
>>70494084

I think it's because cities destroy a community, so they believe the state should fill that role

I know Ireland's politics fairly well. To say that everywhere in the 26 counties outside of Dublin is false. Sinn Féin won 23 seats in Leinster House, and that was not all in Dublin.

Also see the attached map. It is of the US. Red counties voted for Romney, blue counties voted for Obama. As you can see, the map looks mostly red. The thing though is few people live in those red areas. The population of the 23 square mile island of Manhattan in New York City is more than double the population of Wyoming. What's important is the cities where people live are left wing.
>>
>>70496967
Counties aren't relevant to national politics though
A more interesting picture would be by congressional district so we can see the beautiful gerrymandering. maryland is particularly fun
