Cruz just so happened to be the one candidate who is not only worse than Sanders, but is also worse than Hillary.

I'm not going to vote for anyone other than Trump, but if a gun was pointed to my head in the ballot booth, and I had to choose between Ted Cruz or Hillary Clinton, I'd go with Commander Arf Arf. At least Clinton MIGHT not do as bad because of Bill up there.

>The Republican presidential voting process is separate from the delegate selection process in most states.
>The voters do not actually pick the delegates, the South Carolina Republican party does. It picks delegates who promise to vote for Trump, but only on the first ballot. So what many state parties are doing is picking delegates who will vote for Trump on the first ballot, but on the second ballot, when they are free, will vote for Ted Cruz.

why is this shit so complicated?

Here are the two scenarios the GOP are currently wrestling with:

1)
>Allow Trump to have the nomination
>Maybe he wins, maybe he doesn't... it doesn't matter, the GOP establishment as we know it will no longer exist. Most of their influence/power will be gone.

2)
>Steal the nomination from Trump
>Majority of Trump supporters will abandon the GOP, meaning the Republicans lose the election
>But at least the establishment continues to have influence and power over their party

It looks like they're going with option 2. They're playing the long game... they'll let Hillary have this election, block everything she does during her term (making her look ineffective), and hope they win in 4 years. Worst case scenario, they win in 8 years.

The establishment is pushing for Cruz because he can only win in an underhanded way, which alienates Trump voters and hands the election to Hillary. Then they can say "you should have chosen our candidate if you wanted to win."

No idea why Cruz would let himself be used like this. You'd think allying with Trump and being VP would be better than anything the establishment could offer him.

>>70482857
Or, maybe Romney was so unlikable talking about his "binders of women" and "the 47%" WHILE not being able to handle the media backlash. Maybe it was him somehow getting BTFO by Obama in the second/third "debates". Maybe it was that nobody wanted someone so stiff, robotic, and outright dull as their president. Believe it or not, people want someone with a little bit of character and charisma to represent their entire country. He has no charisma, strength, energy, or anything.

Christians wouldn't vote for him because he's a Mormon, he can't debate, he sounds more rehearsed than Marco Rubio, and was an establishment candidate in a race where nobody wanted establishment types.

He lost it for himself, not because Republicans didn't vote with their party. He never could connect with people and, if he ran today, he'd still lose.

This is the same problem Hillary is going to have to deal with so long as Trump wins the nomination. Nobody ACTUALLY likes Hillary, and Bernie supporters most definitely don't like her. Voter confidence is already down on the Democratic side, but it will even out (or even go in favor of the Democrats) if Cruz gets it.

Trump deserves it. He is literally the dumbest candidate I've seen in my lifetime. Doesn't know the party rules, doesn't know how to organize a campaign and doesn't know anything about policy and refuses to put the work in to learn any of it. He deserves to lose because his general election campaign would be as terrible as his primary campaign and he'd totally fuck and the down ballot people in the House and Senate and throw away our congressional majority.
>>
>>70484184
Each state has different rules but:
We vote on delegates who represent us at the convention. They are bound to vote for the candidate they represent for at least the first ballot (changes per state). Some states free up the delegates that were bound for candidates that dropped out (some force them to still vote for that now not running candidate). Cruz right now is convincing Rubios estranged delegates to vote for him at convention by having cruz friendly delegates be selected. Trump is not competing, for whatever reason.

I'm not 100% sure on the process desu, you'd have to look up someone more knowledgeable than me to explain it.

As a tax professional (doing tax returns for year, taking my CPA exam next fall) i'm extremely dissapoint in Cruz. I LOVE what he says about the constitution. but his tax plan is unbelievably bad. It will end up costing low and middle class families a shit ton of money not only by making them pay for income tax (yes you will pay more income tax once you don't get your deductions anymore) but it will also make everyday goods cost more.

Yes, hes better than hillary or bernie. But holy shit if these are our only choices we are fucked. I can't believe i'm actually doing this- but I'm praying paul ryan or even jeb gets the republican nomination and they can somehow beat the democrat corruption to get elected. otherwise the country is in big trouble (though there is a good chance congress cock blocks any of these idiots from instituting their tax plans)

He has gone from a moderate position even applauded by planned parenthood (aka the people that want less niggers and welfare queens be born) to outright lying about being against abortion for moral reasons he never seemed to care about before!

The very same way he has done with his position on immigration and everything else except trade

Dude, we've already seen a Cruz-like religious nut going against a liberal celebrity in 2012. We know how this ends. It ends with independents and new voters voting against the Republicans.

Trump is bringing in new voters. These people who would actually vote for Romney will vote for Trump anyways (or any other GOP candidate for that matter). The new voters and independents who are going to vote Trump (and put him in the WH) are not so loyal to the GOP.

No, thats called the US Dollar. At this point the debt doesn't matter because we can't default on it and no one is going to call us on it. The US can print more money, redirect debt and make deals. We aren't close to being in trouble with our debt. No country is in a position to bite the hand that feeds them... and even if they get in that position we'll create the money to pay them and have some much needed inflation of the dollar value ( no country wants to do that right now because they want their currency undervalued because the world economy is in the shitter and a cheaper currency creates a better export economy)
>>

Romney’s solution of “self deportation” for illegal aliens made no sense and suggested that Republicans do not care about Hispanics in general, Trump says.

So hillary deserves it in your mind? Why? Her husband was a disaster (affirmative action, being too beta to prosecute osama bin laden when he was arrested, lying under oath)... Hillary was an even greater disaster as secretary of state.

Do you remember the first thing she did?

The "Reset" button with Putin because she claimed russia was no longer a threat to europe.

The arab spring, Libya, Ben Ghazi- those were all her doings. She resigned as secretary of state because she realized she fucked up and didn't want to stick around to deal with it.

The email scandal is small beans, i think she did that on purpose to distract people from her actual record as secretary of state. do you actually pay attention to whats going on around the world? If you did, you'd see shes responsible for a LOT of it. Its how she wanted it.

And we're not even getting into the clinton foundation and its massive corruption and fucked up deals with our enemies. How the FUCK could you vote for hillary? Shes thanking god every day that there is a portion of our electorate who are fucking morons who ignore all that shit and just think "its time for a female president!" just like the white guilt idiots who thought "its time for a black president!" in 2008. deporting 12 million mexicans and then immediatly bringing them back AS TRUMP EXACTLY SUGGESTS is an AMNESTY

He has made no attempt to hide the fact that that is his plan all along

The "Reset" button with Putin because she claimed russia was no longer a threat to europe.
The joke here is that, unlike Bush years, Obama's presidency completely ruined any relationship we had with Russia and only Trump can repair our relationship.

So if Trump is down by 50 pledged delegates he'll still have enough unpledged on his side to hit 1237? Sounds like good news to me.

With a Democrat in office, especially if it's Hillary, the Republicans KNOW they lost, and that will give them an incentive to change their behaviour.

If a cuckservative wins, then they get to say "our strategy works!" and keep going down the road of being anti-white Democrat-lites.

Losing is a much better option than winning and reinforcing cuckoldry.

It's called "taking the lumps out".

He doesn't have to approve anyone who reapplies, but by letting people think they can it seems less harsh.

>Romney and McCain both lost to a black, Indonesian, Muslim Marxist; what makes them think your average GOP candidate can beat a white woman?

Bingo. At this point, the GOP is controlled opposition to the Democratic Party. Used to cast the illusion of a Republic to the common plebeian. Nobody likes Trump because he challenges that status quo.
