Is this the epitome of an honest and financially secure career?
These guys make anywhere from 50-90k a year just driving around.
Also the Teamsters union protects these guys from even killing people.
WHY AREN'T YOU WORKING FOR UPS /pol/????
I like turning left
Because welfare honestly

You'd be a great match for nascar.
It will be automated.

>just driving around
sure

1. Most, if not all drivers started from the bottom, so that is $10/hr box moving all day long for years. Most people quit and move on because it is back breaking work and the management is toxic. Average worker attrition is 3 months (meaning: an average worker quits within 3 months).
2. For those who stay, they will work shit hours doing a shit and unhealthy job for years for shit pay.
3. Truck driving slots are based on seniority so you better wait on line.
4. Union guys whit shit down your neck for fun
>>70473991
Worst drivers ever.
90 thousand ups reeeeeeeeek
>>70474329
Yup, in about 40 years
>>70474337
Sorry, you're right.
>and standing up and walking to a door
>>70474130
>tfw work extremely comfy, secure, stress free job as a delivery driver
>despite the fact i love doing my job, i hide what I am from others because I know they'll think I'm a loser
Thats probably why. If you're not STEM or business/finance, you get laughed at, no one wants one of these easy blue caller jobs, you become a second class citizen.
>>70474771
Ares you enjoying your comfy life?
>>70473991
if you want to waste 15 years of your life working for ups in the warehouse at 11/hr for a possibility of becoming a driver note, POSSIBILITY, go for it.
as someone in the distribution business (while going to school) it pays well but is shitty, and lifeless fucking work
>>70474422
>>70475007
I hope OP reads this before considering the UPS
>>70474771
>driving
>stress free
WEW lad. You must live in a new amazing land where drivers aren't retards.
It's not a bad job but expect to actually work and not sit around on your phone all day pretending to work.
>>70474422
ALL OF THIS IS TRUE.
6 months loader here, the conditions are awful, they only pay for college if you work night shift (the most boxes), and it is a shithole of unhealthy conditions, dumbfuck managers, and power crazed bosses.
Hard fucking job, life draining job.
Currently nursing three injuries from my shoulders, knees, and back.
>inb4 proper form
nigga I was the only shmuck lifting right.
>>70476147
also, the realization that you are a living robot that only exists because the unions strong armed the company into not automating everything (and making it infinitely more productive) is soul crushing.
>>70476147
>TFW i still have nightmares about the black boogers
>just driving around
>>70473991
cause i work for ford making more money with a better union. we also are going to be making the new ups trucks at my plant.
>>70474422
This 100%
Sometimes when the ups guy hands me a package I get a strong urge to take out my wallet and tip him. Would that be insulting?
Why not get a real trade job, like plumber or HVAC? I was a mailman for like 3 months, 1 day out of 10 was decent but the rest were hellish. Fucking marriage mail.
>>70476747
>quit over a week ago
>still coughing
>mfw
>>70474130
Wasn't that FedEx?
>>70474328
Or roller derby.
>>70473991
10 years this job won't exist. Delivery will be automated via drones and unmanned vehicles.
We better start praying to the AI lords as we watch capitalism fall to its knees. Jobs? What jobs? It's all automated.
>>70478376
>he believes the drone meme
how fucking dumb are you?
>>70478514
