My sister was at Field Day, they separate you into groups by color (orange, green, blue ect). She asked a young black boy what color he was, and he slugged her in the stomach and she puked.
During the parent-teacher conference that followed, my parents stressed that we NEVER spoke down on people because of color, and she simply did not know racism. The young man's parents were immediately on the "You did this because we black" until the teacher interrupted and asked if they teach their son what they say, and they said yes. He asked them why they would propagandize their son to hatred when the girl in the situatiuon was asking a simple, childlike question, and they started screaming. End result, they moved, we stayed, and I now know that you grow into Racism. She is still scared of black men to this day, and it is a learned thing, which is why many older people simply do not like a group of people because of life experience. This works both ways.
