Why should assisted suicide remain illegal?
Murder is illegal and suicide is a sin.
It shouldn't.
Honestly I want a giant building to be built where people just go to kill themselves. Where they stand on a red dot, pay all the money they've ever earned (assuming they don't have a family) and get shot with an unrealistic amount of force and speed, so it's 100% and less painful.

The church doesn't like it because they can prey on old people in misery on their death beds and loot them for their remaining cash. Also, the churches breeding protocols would be called into question, the banning of birth control and abortion.
In a lot of cases, life is worth losing, the boomers of course will get their way, assisted suicide is coming in a big way. When quality of life is zero, the only question remaining is who would prolong it other than sadists and well indoctrinated religious people?

It should be legal. Someone making the choice to end their own life is different from abortion in which you are actually committing a murder by taking the life of a baby.
