Is Wikipedia a reputable source for information? Or was the "you shouldn't use Wikipedia" Highschool-meme true?
>(I didn't know which board was best for this question)
Jimbo Wales is a dyed-in-the-wool Objectivist. Wikipedia is the most libertarian research project of all time.

>secondary sources
No also almost half of their links at the bottom of the page are dead or expired.

Can you post a few links that prove this claim?

>Jimbo Wales writes every single Wikipedia article

It's called kikepedia for a reason. Try metapedia.org for example if you want to know something about factual history
As long as you don't use it as a source of history and politics, you're good to go, I think.

It is a useful tool to introduce you into a topic but you a retard if you think is word anything on academic paper.
I would say it's the right tool for high school.

"The core problem of Wikipedia is the problem of establishing reliability. In accordance with its increasing professionalization, its decision to depend on "reliable secondary sources such as mainstream media", echoes the pattern of commercially-controlled media the world over."

The only reason the wiki-is-bad meme exists is because teachers wanted their students to dig deeper for their sources than wikipedia. Which is bullshit.
Use it for Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science. Everything else should be considered as false information

It's only good for quickly getting a vague idea of what a particular topic is about. If you want more information you have to search deeper.

NPOV is Randian as fuck.
The fact that leftists are more interested in organizing for information control under NPOV only indicates a failure among conservatives. The system is libertarian whether you like it or not, cuck.
It's shit.
If anyone can upload anything what makes it any different than getting info from /pol/?
It's a fun and convenient website, I think it's really how funny Earth depends on it now, definitely Google and YouTube-tier for importance, it'll be around forever.

Computer science is the word used for academically discussing or learning about computer coding or languages.
Get the fuck over yourself, it's a real term.
Well you should scrutinize any info regardless of source and not just take it at face value
But Wikipedia on average doesn't seem to be better or worse than other sources. I think studies have shown its accuracy to be on-par with professional encyclopedias.
Wikipedia is obviously more prone to vandalism but there are thousands of contributors with no lyfe who monitor articles and roll back bad edits pretty quickly
