The way I see it, one's ideal nation must have its main base within oneself. So for as long as a single traditional / conservative first-world citizen yet draws breath, yes. For as long as any single nation yet has sons (and maybe daughters) who would fight for it, yes, yes and a thousand times yes. The glory of a struggle scales directly with the numbers one's opponent has.
