I don't really believe in privilege and whatnot but I was talking to an Asian guy the other day and we actually talked about racism and how, in a way, it was uncomfortable to talk to strangers about racism as a white male. Based on my feelings and thoughts at the moment, I agreed with him completely.
It was an actually interesting thing to talk to someone not in an echo chamber where zero judgment was being placed. It's very easy to talk about racism and stuff here or with my friends, but amongst people I am not completely comfortable with it was difficult in a way. He wasn't even a "liberal" or anything of that nature, and he agreed that even for him it was a bit difficult to talk about in a non-"negative" way that wouldn't draw conclusions from the opposite party.
