It usually means showing hard facts or the crude reality behind something. Contrasted by the simple answer the public media gives.
A typical example of that is the german revolution after WW1. In history books this is called a "peaceful protest", they've tried their best to hide reality. I checked it myself and could only find a small map that pointed out "communist revolution attempts", that was all.
The truth is that communist jews with an army of over a million, armed with machineguns etc, tried to turn germany into a commie state, but where beaten by emperor loyalists.
Thats a red pill for you. There was a reason germans didn't like jews.
