If Hillary imposed liability on gun manufacturers, would it apply only to America or internationally?
I agree with Bernie Sanders stance on guns because Heller has effectively ended the gun debate. Holding gun manufacturers liable creates a whole host of new problems. Heller affirmed every US citizens right to own a gun potentially opening gun manufacturers up to unlimited liability if Hillary gets her way.
If we hold them liable in America, they will take their industry out of the country leaving us in the same position as before. This would raise the question of whether we should hold international gun manufacturers liable which is incredibly problematic no matter what the outcome is. If we do, nobody will sell us guns anymore and our 2nd Amendment is effectively void. If we don't, we are in the same boat as right now where we can't sue the manufacturer, except we lose an entire industry.
There are a lot of hard questions that should be asked about this, its one thing to say it just to sound "liberal" or "progressive", its another thing entirely to actually have an answer to gun control.
