http://www.cnet.com/news/bernie-sanders-donald-trump-agree-apple-iphone-manufacturing-to-us/

Apple primarily relies on foreign manufacturing partners, notably China, although it does make Mac Pros and some iPhone parts in the US. When politicians call for domestic manufacturing, they tend to reason it will benefit the nation economically. But manufacturing costs are much cheaper abroad.

Many American companies have become reliant on Asian companies like Foxconn, which manufactures the iPhone, to keep devices affordable. If the iPhone was manufactured in US, analysts say consumers could end up paying twice as much, or more, for the phone.

The US also doesn't have the same manufacturing capabilities, Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook said in a December interview on "60 Minutes," and has fallen behind China in terms of specialist skills.

"China put an enormous focus on manufacturing," said Cook. "The US, over time, began to stop having as many vocational kinds of skills."

This.

Greedy fucks. It costs about 200 dollars to gather the materials and components needed to manufacture a Dell desktop PC. Yet they're sold for around 1k in stores.

Costs about 80 dollars to manufacture a smartphone. Yet they're sold for around 700 or more dollars.

It's ridiculous and unneeded.

Bernie Sanders supporters have deluded themselves into hating Hillary Clinton more than anyone else in the world via non stop anti-Hillary posts on reddit and facebook. A lot of Bernie supporters say they will either not vote or vote for Trump if Hillary gets the nomination. Now Donald Trump is constantly publicly agreeing with Bernie Sanders. What Trump is doing is securing the disgruntled Sanders supporter vote because he knows the general election will be himself vs Hillary. It's brilliant
>>

cant we force them to let go of the intellectual property after x number of years to allow companies to make compatible "clones"? Seeing how parts and labor is $80 per phone, it'll allow even africa to make their own 100% compatible iphone

It costs Apple $12-$30 to manufacture a unit which is 3 times as much as most any other company. And their BOM is around $200. Which puts their COGS at about ~$250

Design costs are insignificant compared to manufacturing (except for software which is basically all design)

It's mass produced cheap materials at a high quality production. So it's likely the phones are only around $30 to $40 in materials.

If people would stop buying the products, we wouldn't have this problem, yet every time, idiots line up to buy the new model of the iPhone, and on the way out they complain that CEOs make to much money. They completely fail to realize that they are the ones who support them financially
>>
>>70445690
R&D cost is projected to be about $15 per iphone. It's literally nothing. The bulk cost of production is manufacturing
>>
>>70446011
Yes. People who aren't autistic libertarians understand the government can use force to do things that promote a healthy society, like prosecuting criminals and forcing American companies to produce in America.

Corporations like Apple only exist because they are supported by the US government through the granting of limited liability status, a legal privilege, the use of publicly-funded courts to adjudicate and enforce private contracts, corporate and financial laws that protect the owners of corporations and make it easy for them to operate.

In exchange for this, it is perfectly morally justified for the government to force US companies that produce goods to produce them in the US.

If they don't like it, they and all their owners and employees can move to Somalia or Antarctica and stop selling their products in the US. Their choice.
>>
>>70445283
material costs are cheap when you have slave labor.

assembly costs are almost as cheap with slave labor as well.

however theres also engineering costs, transportation costs, and of course our favorite goyim tax of 90% where the kikes take home almost all the profit.

American central bank is the Federal Reserve. And the dollar its the currency on which global transactions are made, despite all the efforts many have done you can't compete with the currency of the central bank that dominates others banks like a pyramid. Liquidity, assets, you call it. Especially resources.

Mercantilism is what Sanders and Trump are seeking, to boost home production and avoid foreign goods.

>don't benefit from having their central bank dominate other banks

Delusion. There is no other place in the world with an governmental apparatus od that immensity as well as social programs too sustain their economies. Obama isn't a genius, in 2008 he went to the Legislative power to increase the budget because if you stop injecting money you face and economic shock and mass firings. That scheme is not sustainable, just look at Venezuela. They got billions of billions in dollars, but their citizens acts like Americans some work other are just waiting to earn money working a few hours and expecting their infrastructure gets better. And it fails, because that mentality only slow downs your economy instead of turning it dynamic.

See other first world nations, like Japan and Switzerland they don't care about people who don't work. Life is expensive. While you can be a total failure in the states and don't worry for food or shelter.

Its the magical "self-debt" the Federal Reserve gives the US population that makes them rich even if its only for a couple days and then it goes to others nations like China who will exchange the dollars for goods and then buy more resources in the international arena like oil and metals.

Trump is aware of that leeching mentality. Listen to his interviews (avoid speeches), Americans don't make anything now. Technology pours into others nations, and companies move to avoid taxes and local jobs, despite profiting from the US market.

Yes they benefit and a lot of it, maybe the middle class don't appreciate it but look how many jobless leechers are around (blacks above 30 who didn't had a job at all with their EBT cards) and ask your self why their economy hasn't collapse/froze already.

topkek, It literally costs them like 150$ to build an iphone (parts and labour). And they sell it for 900$. Get your head out of your ass, the only reason they are building their shit in china is for pure $$, not because they care about releasing an affordable device.
>>
>>70448518

>>
The problem is America's shitty consumerism, people buy the new 1000$ iphone, now 1% thinner, and with NEW COLORS and toss away their perfectly good old phone every year, and they buy new laptops or ipads every single year and toss out their old ones. People just buy shit they don't need for status and to feel good, if they stopped throwing their money away they'd be better off. Who buys apple except for liberal college students with their student loan debt, wearing whatever overpriced popular clothes are being marketed. I can buy a pc for half the price with double the specs
