God is uncreated and eternal, the only sound basis to place your, and all beings, created and temporary life upon. Any other basis, concept or idea you place your life upon will fail, because by it's nature it will be created and temporary.
What about that is hard to understand? God is the only rock, everything else is sand that will be swept away, ultimately by the heat death of the universe, but practically by many things before that, namely your death. Only God is eternal because God is uncreated. Everything else is created and has a finite period of existence.
God is the only fulfilling authority, without which your life is meaningless and pointless, because a temporary life can not be fulfilled by another temporary and finite thing (any of Camus's just-make-it-up ideas), but only an eternal and infinite thing, God.
