That's not what conservatism is. Conservatism is recognizing that the past exists, that others have come before us and that they just might have discovered truths haven't fully grasp in our ephemeral time on this earth. While it doesn't mean blindly following tradition, it does mean we should at least be humble before the centuries-old heritage we were given and not so arrogant as to believe we are the first enlightened people.
