In America we have around four centuries at best if you include pre-1776. Huge amounts of our white population only arrived in the past century or two. Well this is a problem with the structure of the 'alt-right'. This will get me hate, but I don't think the alt-right is even an umbrella term for various groups of a new/resurgent right-wing. I think it is a creation of this paradigm shift on the greater political stage towards the left. This lurch means that right wing views which were far more common and normal in the past have fallen outside of the current perception of the political scale. The alt-right didn't form, it was pushed out. Push the centre back, and it's included again.
