I am, at heart, a libertarian.
In my perfect world, the government would be a Libertarian one.
But I don't know, maybe it's because I'm 18 now, and am actually getting more into politics, my realistic approach to government is a little different.
While I would love for things to be libertarian, I feel people are too shortsighted, incompetent, and apathetic.
I like the free market, but I also think that maybe CEO's don't have to make hundreds and hundreds per hour. That maybe we should ensure that companies aren't trying to sell poison to unaware consumers.
I like borders. I like the idea that those with private estate should decide who gets to enter the country and when.
I don't like welfare, but I believe people need a helping hand every once in a while.
That kind of thing.
I appreciate qualities of libertarianism that I think should be better implemented in society however, like minimization of the FDA and overall government regulation. Especially with private businesses. I think that everyone should be able to do as they want to do, so long as they are not directly harming myself or my belongings.
