I'd believe it, it seems like many in our generation have pretty delayed social and sexual development. I dunno what's caused it, but it's really difficult for a lot of people to make the jump from getting to know someone to a romantic relationship. I suspect a lot of it has to do with the erasure of gender roles, so guys don't wanna be men (or feel that its wrong), and womyn just wanna be like guys, and both parties try to pretend that male-female friendships are "more important" than sexual ones. So you end up with a weird, almost puritan society where young people don't even have the basic understanding of how to get together absent some fucking app on their phone.
Then why is the STD rate so high.

Can you explain that a bit? It sounds like an excuse. Porn is a reflection of western society and it's degeneracy, not a deflection of it. You can't blame porn for it all when porn simply reflects what people have become. The rest of your post is spot on, though.
