How is transgender not a mental illness when these people literally mutilate themselves, take supplements which fuck up their entire body, and have high rates of suicide?
It is not something to be celebrated, or something to be hated, it is something to be treated and cured. How the fuck do people think gender re-assignment is at all normal or healthy?

It's been proven that you can't treat/cure it, same thing with homosexuality. In fact attempts to treat/cure it simply do more damage than there already is.

What I don't understand is identifying strongly as any gender. I am a male but feel like if I was expected to wear dresses, have a female name, etc. I would just do it and it doesn't seem like it would be a problem.
I perform the role I'm assigned in society and I try to embody that role but not because I inherently feel that way, just because it's what's given to me.
So what I wonder is, is the issue with transgenders that they specifically identify as a "woman" or whatever, or is is that they just "identify as something other than what they are"? I mean, is this like a situation where you can't accept being yourself and so you obsess over being something other than that, or is it actually "born in the wrong body"?
Does the fact that I don't feel specifically as thought I was "born in the right body" make me genderqueer? I just feel like I was born in the body I was born in and I've never considered whether it's right or wrong.

Given the discrepancy between body sex and brain sex, its far easier to change body sex to fit the brain sex than the opposite (we have no clue how to change brain sex / gender, but we can change body sex with hormones and surgery..), hence transitioning should be the way to go in treating gender dysphoria.
Trans people are being honest when they decide to transition and live as who they really are. Without transitioning, they would be living a lie as someone they're not.
