This is exactly the type of phrase a nu-male would use. Guys who venerate women and think women can be "strong".
There's really not that much new about Nu-males. There have never been any single type of male. But the defining qualities I'd say are that they tend to be back-stabbing, bitchy, snarky, etc towards other males in their pursuit of the women they tend to orbit. I've come accross a lot of these guys online on IRC channels and so on. In public life, the Victorian Police commissioner Ken Lay is an example - hugging Rosie Batty and acting like a castrated eunuch to the feminist movement, even though he's clearly motivated in part by his own career and financial gain.
