is there any doubt capitalism is the greatest economic system to ever grace the earth?

It's efficient in encouraging innovation. It channels the inherent selfishness of men in a productive direction

Truly godly. Someone should build a religion around it.

Honestly, this isn't good evidence in that direction.

With all respect to SpaceX's engineering achievement, this is hard, but it's not a difficult idea to come up with.

If NASA had given a shit about cutting costs they could've done something like this decades ago. It didn't need any technology we just came up with.
>>

>elon musk

He is a US citizen who has a US company full of US employees who achieved.

This is why Canada's greatest and only achievement continue to be the hat of america

I can't feel patriotic over a corporation sending a rocket to space, maybe when McDonalds steps up and sends their own rocket it can hit a bit closer to home.

Finally they can send stuff and men to and from the ISS. Something only Russia and China could do before.

Finally America can into Spacestation.

>If NASA had given a shit about cutting costs
the point is that they didnt because government inefficiency

>flag
oh, well, that explains it
>>
>>70364060
>If NASA had given a shit about cutting costs
But that's literally the entire point of Capitalism. SpaceX was able to do this BECAUSE they gave a shit about cutting costs BECAUSE they're a private, for-profit company that can't just fuck around and ask the government for more money when they don't get shit done.

You mean like Google?
Fortunately the success of a company under Capitalism isn't always (and in fact, is rarely) determined by how the employees feel about working there.
There are thousands of people who would kill to work for a company as innovative and popular as SpaceX.
>>
>>70365490
It's innovative and popular, but it's basically reserved for fresh out of college single men. Lots of overtime and barely any vacation.
>>
>>70364060
>if NASA had actually given a shit about cutting costs
NASA is extremely underfunded these days, and has been since the end of the Apollo missions. They recycled whatever they could find a practical use for after the mission completed.

Absolutely true, see below
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Dragon_%28rocket%29
The Sea Dragon was a 1962 design study for a two-stage sea-launched orbital rocket. The project was led by Robert Truax while working at Aerojet, one of a number of designs he created that were to be launched by floating the rocket in the ocean. Although there was some interest at both NASA and Todd Shipyards, nothing ever came of the design as NASA's Future Projects Branch was shut down in the mid‑1960s. At 150 m long and 23 m in diameter, Sea Dragon would have been the largest rocket ever built.
The rocket would have been able to carry a payload of up to 550 metric tons into low Earth orbit. Payload costs were estimated to be between $59 to $600 per kg. TRW (Space Technology Laboratories, Inc.) conducted a program review and validated the design and its expected costs,[3]

I like how we are pretending the people who explored the moon, are exploring mars, and photographed pluto are somehow new to the space game.

China finally gets a rover on the moon 50 years after Americans walked on it and cant even manage to keep it working for a week.
