Going back to the thread's theme though, weed is and is not 100% safe. Certain people may find it's not just for them. It's a motivation killer, that's for damn sure. You can use it responsibly, but that means don't smoke every day and/or in excessive amounts. Tolerance breaks are highly recommended, that way you don't smoke as much, but you feel it more. And of course, lungs aren't designed for anything but oxygen.
Dabbing hash oil through a rig is truly the way of the future. It's powerful as fucking hell though, so I wouldn't recommend to an inexperienced smoker. Also oil is expensive as shit, and it's mainly just THC. There are literally hundreds of cannabinoids in the marijuana plant. Some of them, like CBD, are very effective for pain relief. But it hasn't been researched thoroughly due to its illegality.
As far as the "gateway drug" meme goes, it's truly a meme but there's a sliver of truth to it. If you blaze up at least once, you're not going to want to do heroin. But in terms of social interactions, the more you associate with drug users, the more likely you'll be exposed to harder drugs. This. I still smoke, but it has negative consequences. Anything that alters mental state (alcohol, caffeine, etc.) Can prevent you from getting to the deep, REM stage of sleep. I get to sleep easier when I'm high, bit it's always a less restful nights sleep. Sometimes I get a stuffy nose when smoking. Other than that, I don't notice any other negative effects.
