It's a problem of collective action without adequately integrating the huge influx of new visitors who dilute the nature of discourse. The revolving and fast-paced nature of this board threatens to make quality threads very easy to miss in favor of those, though I am prone to diving into the superficial fun threads. But there is a lot developing in real time that I haven't seen really brought up on here recently that is very important.
There's this thing on 4chan where you have slow boards where there isn't much happening and then they gradually develop their own culture. That culture spreads due to crossposting.
Soon that crossposting leads to an influx of newfaggots from other boards...
These newfaggots tend to shitpost and use memes.. often incorrectly and basically ruin the board. As long as the flow is gradual enough the newfags will be corrected but if the newfags flow in too fast their behavior is never corrected and the board's culture will mutate.
/pol/ has reached a level where it's influence is bringing in too many newfags at the moment.
All is not lost though because /pol/ has a strong enough culture to correct itself.
This combined with regulars trolling and outsiders like reddit coming in to try and influence us makes /pol/ seem temporarily shit. But reddit faggots lose interest and return to their shithole. Trolls stop trolling and newfags get redpilled.
