Nah that's not true at all. We're making small improvements all the time. Revolutionary breakthroughs are rare but they do happen.
IMO the next one is going to be in data processing - the security industry has a FUCKTON of data they're physically incapable of sorting through in a timely manner; we're at the start of a MASSIVE push (both military and commercial) on self-driving vehicles; deep learning and neural networks are just starting to make good visual progress (why do you think captchas went from being words to pictures a few years ago?); linguistic AI is still moving along at a good clip (eg: Tai the redpilled bot); nVidia just announced GPU acceleration for neural networks, etc etc etc.
tl;dr: In 5-10 years your car will mostly drive itself, the NSA's will develop an early form of Skynet, businesses will begin using pseudo-AI to interact with customers, and someone will start building the first commercial robo-waifus (and they'll suck).
Oh, and in 50 years or so, humanity is going to undergo a massive existential crisis when we realize we're not the special little snowflakes we always thought were were.
It crashed in the Indian ocean. My money is on a suicidal or totally insane crewmember that seized the cockpit and then locked everyone else out.
And since there is approximately Zero communications in the Indian Ocean... there's no way anyone onboard could call out.

Not yet, currently the best we have is in 14nm, and 7nm should still be feasible. It should plateau in the next 5 years, after that any improvement can only be made with different architectures.

I believe it was a foiled Israeli false flag attempt on China with Uighur and Iranian patsies.
The Iranians were on false passports. One of the Uighurs had a PhD and flight training in a simulator. One week before the event, uighur terrorists carried out a mass knife attack on a train station in what was called at the time china's 9/11. Mh370 attack on beijing was probably supposed to happen that day.
There were two planes. MRO (mh370) and MRD (Tel Aviv twin that came down the same production line). Mh370 was either sent to the bottom of the ocean or buried near the yubileyniy runway. MRD was prepped for the attack. The russian/israeli operative seated near the E/E bay probably took control of mh370. There were also two suspicious ukrainians sat near the satellite system.
Inmarsat data was spoofed and two of their engineers later later killed.
Debris was planted.

CNN was on was on the wormhole theory for a big segment. Now that actual 777 wreckage washes up they made some room on the ticker.
My bet is the cockpit destabilized, pilots died and the system got fucked. The plane ascended at a 180 degrees then got so high up that it broke apart upon reentry.

This has been a thing for a long time. NVidia just announced an extremely powerful and "affordable" machine learning box, though.
