The concentration camps were real. They were similar to the American concentration camps in that they were created to reduce the risk of attacks from within.
At the time the soviets were heavily supported by Jewish communities world wide.
Mass deaths occurred in the camps due to the typhus epidemic which was sweeping Europe at the time.

The absolute best arguments that deniers have against their side is the fact that people are imprisoned for questioning it.
