Rubio got destroyed by Trump in Florida and no one likes Kasich which is why no one is voting for him. If the GOP came out with Kasich as the nominee despite no one outside Ohio voting for him, it will be the end of the party. Trump will definitely run as a third party after being betrayed in favor of a guy no one voted for. Even the republicans who don't care for Trump would have to be somewhat disgusted after not at least giving it to Cruz. The GOP would struggle to get more votes than Gary Johnson in the general.
