Everyone liked Leia. They would have even enjoyed a spin-off starting Carey Fisher back in the day. The issues are mary sues, bad characterizations and inverted stereotypes, and passive aggressive signaling. It's completely coordinated that a bunch of articles come out immediately defending these things before any serious backlash materializes. They WANT to provoke male fans. It's by design. This has nothing to do with writing good characters. Frankly, it's a disservice to these actresses that they won't be given memorable, organic, and engaging character arcs like a Luke Skywalker, or a Han Solo. They're being short changed for the thrill of intimidate ideological satisfaction.
