I look back at what was pop culture in the 60's through 80's and weep. Then I look back at what was pop culture from the 20's to 40's and weep even more.
America has slowly gotten negrofied and will soon be hispaniced. Just wait when the next generation of pop stars are all spics and the music is latin pop shit.
We will never have hair metal bands, nice pop songs about love, and the like. There will never be another band like Chicago. Everything has to be sex, drugs, and violence with rap and the same electronic shit. A band like Heart or Blondie would never be played on the radio.

Rap became big because white kids started listening to it.
White kids started listening to rap for the same reason the generation before them started listening to punk, and the generation before that started listening to rock & roll, and the generation before that started listening to swing music - because their parents didn't like it.
As long as the USA maintains a societal structure in which young people of every generation are continually dis-empowered by an economy that shuts them out and a legal system that makes them all criminals for doing what all teenagers of every generation do, it will be like this.
Maybe next generation's kids will simply refuse to adopt any music whatsoever in protest, since music really can't get any worse than rap (crosses fingers).
