There's a HUGE difference between Vienna and the rest of the nation.
You won't find a real Austrian in Vienna. They adopted the german lifestyle and language a long time ago.
Basically because our Nr.1 immigration group for the last 25 years is from Germany (Nr.2 is Turkey) and they all life in Vienna.
So you will just see Germans and Turks and sometimes Slaws in Vienna - in the tourist hotspots the natives will all be germans.
Outside of Vienna you will see the real Austria. And you will notice that we all (except Vorarlberg) speak like Bavarians.
When i go to Vienna and speak my native accent, nobody will understand me. But when i go to Munich, i don't have to speak in plain standard German, i can speak with my accent and they will understand me without any problems.
