It's not necessarily 'women" logic. I definitely believe the same sort've thing about some situations, such as the ethical foundation of Habeas Corpus. We have these massive legal infrastructures and mechanisms and if they had only ever had one innocent person go through them, and that person was found innocent, I would believe that it was well worth the effort and expense.
The idea of getting rid of what is obviously a major contributor to making a violent act accessible to anybody at any time, in an almost instant manner is not a bad idea in a vacuum.
It's just that there are many factors that come in to play, for example, I grew up on a working farm with animals, and shit does happen, and if you do not have a way to instantly put something down, you have a situation in which an animal (or animals) can be subject to extreme suffering.
And there is the matter of civic defense, which I could write for months about.
And then there is personal defense, it is unethical to strip a person of all manner of personal security. And for some, a gun is really the only equalizer. Tazers fail, sprays can fail, or incapacitate everybody (and who recovers quicker in a situation where it's an 80 year old women vs a 24 year old man?) but a good revolver or a shotgun for example will never fail.

Canada has abortion for any stage of the pregnancy, i get the first month or two maybe. But to have it legal at any stage is immoral, inhuman and cold blooded murder. The one responsible for allowing that should be tried for crimes against humanity in The Hague.
