I want our government to function based on ideas of the people, even if they disagree with me or end up not working. At the very least, we have a functional democracy at that point, instead of a special interest oligarchy.
I'm not saying anything about the rich and their money, just pointing out that there must be some control on money's influence in politics.
In a lot of ways, Trump and Bernie are each parties own representation of the same thing, a desire for a change in the way we do politics in this country. This is the saddest thing about our political system. We really need a POTUS that is centrist in ideology with zero special interest finance. Imagine if you could fuse Bernie and Trump. The person would look at every idea from both sides and determine the best outcome.
In this kind of situation, I could see a president that upholds the second amendment while making gun control about keeping them out of the hands of criminals (a lot of this has to do with the illegal drug trade).
This whole "I am right and everyone else is wrong" is unequivocally unamerican and unscientific. The best ideas should be tested and rejected if they do not work, regardless of which political ideology they come from.

I saw this video, and it's pretty clear what's happening.
Trump supporters are regularly harassed, and are rightfully suspicious of some black guy rolling in with the protesters trying to give out free hugs.
Bernie supporters, never having to deal with opposition when they gather politically, obviously have nothing to fear or lose by warming up to this guy.
If you want a straight forward analysis of what's happening here from a behavioral stand-point, I'd say the results are pretty well expected.
Ask yourself this though, how come there are protesters at Trump political gatherings in the first place, and not Bernie?
