All EV manufacturers have battery warranties available where you can swap out your battery for a brand new one after x years.
These batteries aren't actually useless, they can still be used in an electric vehicle if necessary, but even in a situation where they can no longer handle that sort of rapid charge/discharge, they're still good for energy storage in the home - which is something Musk is doing with refurbished battery packs, which tesla sells as their "powerwall" product. (Although I understand that the next step with it is to use brand new batteries once the nevada factory is running)
