Bernie wants to make colleges tuition free and for jobs to pay a living wage. Not mail everyone a "living wage check" every month.
There would be literally no reason to stay in college indefinitely like that. You'd still have to work a job to pay for all your living expenses. The only difference from the state of things now is you wouldn't be saddled with student loan debt for the next 30 years or whatever.
