7 out of 10 vets I talk to say "well I joined the service cuz I couldn't do anythin else". Most of this group also says "wul I joined the service cuz of the benefits (not college)". Only 3 out of 10 vets I've talked to say "I joined so I could learn a trade/go to college".

No. It's the same as it's always been. Most of us are productive members of society. The 10% shit birds get the attention. Of that 10% 99% would have been shit birds whether veteran or civilian
They are very spoiled. The military has churned out thousands of vets who were led to believe they were supermen among civilians, but once they are let out into the real world, they have no real talents or abilities that anyone wants.
The military should be teaching humility instead of trying to present the illusion of military pride, it just turns into unwarranted arrogance
