Surely you wouldn't simplify human sexuality to a 0 or 1, would you? A kid going through his early days in university or whatnot can try sex, or less than sex with a person of their own gender and still not necessarily be gay.
Lots of women try sexual experiences with other women when they are young, doesn't mean they're lesbians. The human brain and the behavior of humans is complicated, reducing it to a yes or no is not only dishonest but also laughable.
Sexual development is complicated and the only individual I'd consider to be gay, is the one that goes through his sexual and physiological development and still chooses to have sex with people of their own gender.
