I think he meant that there is a lot of 'Slovenia' in Italy, Austria and Croatia that we were conned out of at the end of WW2.
For example Trieste in Italy, almost the entire south of Austria and Istria in Croatia.
Slovenes have been living in those places for a long time in the past. Now, the Slovene population in these regions has diminished a bit due to pressure from their host states. For a bit of clarification: in Slovenia, if there is a minority living in an area near the border, then they have signs and other public stuff in Slovene and in German/Italian/Hungarian etc. Italy and Austria don't really have something similar on their side.

Huge, Slovenia almost lives off tourism. Which in my opinion is bad because you're basically dependent on other people spending their money on your services but right now it's one of the best things we have going for us. Our seaside is objectively inferior to Croatia and our skiing is objectively inferior to Austria, but if you live in Slovenia you can go to both within an hour's drive. As for the ones we offer they're a little better in price and still very good.

We do have plenty of skiing and it's okay, more experienced skiers probably want more and for that you'd usually go across the border to Austria, the snow depends on the weather but we get a nice skiing season Jan-Feb

Yeah I'd say so, people who live off tourism usually speak more than just English but you're safe going anywhere in Slovenia just on English, which I think is the one big benefit we have over the Czech republic in terms of side by side comparison, that and all the natural beauty.

Mediocre. Resorts are mostly small, low attitude and thus shitty conditions. Most depend on artiffical snow so its often wet or icy. You need a bit of luck to find days with powder and dry snow.

We were the first to secede from Yugoslavia which caused somewhat of a guerilla type national conflict with the at the time stationed yugoslav forces in Slovenia but that ended quickly. I'm guessing Serbia would've had more resentment towards us because of that if they had not had such a brutal war with Bosinia and Croatia shortly afterwards.

I spoke to a Slovenian a couple of months ago and he said, when you're raising a roof on a house, usually, the neighbours would come to help you out, but this was banned, so you now need to get some permit (which isn't free) for each of the neighbours that's helping you out
